Colin’s career began at the young age of 13 helping his mum in local restaurants in Christchurch. After school he wasted no time in enrolling in Bournemouth and Poole catering college, one of the best colleges in England. This led him to Langans Brasserie in the heart of London, his first taste of pressure in a busy kitchen. As years went by Colin developed a passion and understanding of what he wanted to achieve by working in various hotels and restaurants along the way. In 2007 Colin left Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington to join The Tuns making immediate impact by receiving Rosettes for the pub in his second year. Colin prides himself on fresh local and seasonal foods and likes to add the occasional twist. “A good meal is like a good movie exciting you along the way” he quotes.
Kate “Ma” Bolton, through her life long love of baking and a requirement to fulfil some specific dietary needs for both herself and her children has developed a range of Gluten Free and Vegan products as well as constantly adding new recipes and dishes to her fresh food range. Kate can be found at various markets and events across the local area and is gaining something of a cult following. As well as being an all round wonderful person who is loved by all of her regular customers, Kate is also extremely talented and creative in the kitchen. You don’t have to be vegan or only eat gluten free foods to enjoy what Ma Bolton makes. I’m neither, but if I see Kate, I’ll always find plenty I want to eat on her stall and there is always something new to try.

I’m a photographer born and based in the county of Dorset, UK, specialising in portrait, commercial and event photography. Having finished a foundation diploma in Art & Design at Arts University Bournemouth, I’m now focusing on growing my business. I love to welcome all commission and client based photoshoots, working on projects that I feel passionate about. As an artist, I also continue to develop my photography through more self driven work. I have always sought to connect the beauty of local landscape to my portrait, event and commercial photography. Natural beauty and light are key influences in my work. Over the four years I have been a photographer I have enjoyed working with each and every model and client. My biggest thrill is putting a smile on someone’s face by giving them photographs that display them, their products or services at their best. Something to look back on in 50 years. I like to think that I am…

Summit Engagement is a newly founded company (February 2019), based in Bournemouth, United Kingdom. The founder of this company, Richard Quinn, and his colleagues, aim to support local businesses by assisting with the construction of a social media presence (predominantly Instagram) that accurately reflects all aspects of a customers brand, but also an online existence that generates consistent business leads. A message from Richard Quinn: “Automation has taken over social media and now the tables have turned and social media platforms are hitting back. Social media has always required human interaction alongside great content, but now more than ever. That’s where we come in.” Summit Engagement was founded following market research that suggested many businesses do not have a full understanding of the potential social media offers, which is a result of not possessing the knowledge of how to grow. How can Summit Engagement help you? They offer a range of services including; Content…
Ruby On The Road xx
Ruby is a Volkswagen T2 Bay Window Campervan. She was born in Wolfsburg Germany in 1979 and shipped to Bournemouth in 1980 hence her Local Numberplate GRU 98V. Ruby as far as I currently know has spent all her life living locally in Dorset. I had a rush of blood two years ago whilst by the beach in Bournemouth and decided I would like to own a Vintage VWCampervan. I was lucky to find Ruby for sale in Fordingbridge where she had been living for the past 8 years with Richard and his wife enjoying leisurely weekends away camping in Devon/ Dorset & Cornwall. In the last two years Ruby has travelled with me around Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. Last year she also voyaged over to Spain on the Ferry and toured around Spain, Portugal & France where she meet so many lovely people along the way and…

Hi I’m Chloe, a Media & Communications student at Bournemouth University. I’m a lover of all things digital, reading and writing – I also LOVE food, but who doesn’t. Having done a year in the marketing industry for a lovely independent company (The Urban Guild), I am going into my final year at University super confident and full of knowledge about the food & drink industry and the importance of supporting independents. Blogging is definitely more of a hobby for myself as I am still making my way through University life and finding my way.
Hi! I’m Laura, an 18 year old foodie and plastic free advocate. My life is currently filled with A level stress, but I can escape from this all with my food blog Courgettiblogetti! Writing my blog allows me to forget about my studies for a few moments and pour my words out on to a page where anyone can read them, be it a new recipe, a review or an interview, I love every second of producing something for the interests of others. I currently study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology to take exams this coming May. As an aspiring dietitian and keen gym-goer, food is a massive part of my life. I am lucky enough to have access to a wonderful kitchen, which, as long as I clear up, my parents let me run loose in. Whilst I may not post blogs as regularly as many food bloggers, Courgettiblogetti is written with such care. My…
Local Food and Beer Enthusiast There are only two things you need to know about me. One; I love food and two; I love where I live! Supporting our local food and drink businesses is something I’ve been advocating for several years now. Dorset Food Network began towards the end of 2015. The whole idea started at a food festival when I discovered so many local businesses all doing amazing things, many of whom were based within 10 miles of where I lived, yet I had travelled over 30 miles to find them. As somebody who loves food and is very passionate about supporting local businesses, this seemed ridiculous to me. Why had I not heard of these businesses and their products before? So, I decided to do something about it. Dorset Food Network brings together the very best of food and drink in our wonderful county all under one roof. Our listings page is full of amazing…
Our Corporate Partners support the day to day running of Dorset Food Network and the services we offer. They are also available to provide support to our members.
Dorset Food Network proudly supports two local charities. Both charities provide much needed services in the local area and without public support and fund-raising would not be able to do what they do. We are so pleased that we are able to help raise awareness for such worthy causes.
